Security Chip

The Security Chip is known as the Trusted Platform Module (TPM). It is included on the motherboard of your PC. The Security Chip generates and stores encryption keys that can be used to protect your data. Because these encryption keys are retained inside a hardware chip, you are assured of the highest level of security available.

Your Dell PC contains Wave's EMBASSY Trust Suite (ETS), an industry-leading collection of applications that take advantage of the security provided by the Security Chip.

The EMBASSY Trust Suite provides the following applications:

EMBASSY Security Center
Document Manager
Private Information Manager
Secure Email, EFS and 802.1x wizards

Important - EMBASSY Security Center supports fingerprint logon without enabling the Security Chip. The other ETS applications require the Security Chip to be enabled before they can be used.

If you want to secure files and folders on your PC, manage your web and application passwords securely using ETS, use secure email or 802.1x authentication, you will need to enable the Security Chip.
